Short-eared Owl
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with annual precipitation of 218-559 mm and July minimum temperature (hex. med.) of 8-15 C. In cooler areas, occurred in hexagons where May precipitation (hex. min.) is more than 28 mm. In less dry hexagons (559-1511 mm annual precipitation), it occurred if hexagon contains more than 22% agricultural land or some other private land. The logistic regression analysis showed positive or negative association with sagebrush steppe, number of land cover types, extent of the hexagon's most extensive land cover type, the extent of public land, April precipitation (hex. avg.), May minimum temperature (hex. min.), and July minimum temperature (hex. med.).
